The Kano State Government has constituted a 14-member committee to oversee activities marking the third anniversary of the administration of Abba Kabir Yusuf.
In a statement released on Saturday, May 23, by the Press Secretary to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Musa Tanko Muhammad, the government said the committee was inaugurated by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Faruk Ibrahim, on behalf of the governor.
According to the statement, “The 14-member committee is tasked with organising a befitting programme that will highlight the achievements and milestones recorded by the present administration within its first three years in office.”
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony at the Cabinet Office Conference Hall, Ibrahim stressed the importance of putting together a well-structured and impactful celebration capable of attracting dignitaries from within and outside Kano State.
He noted that the administration had fulfilled a considerable number of its campaign promises, especially in sectors that have direct impacts on residents’ lives.
The SSG, who doubles as chairman of the committee, said the anniversary event would serve as a platform to showcase the achievements of the Gida Gida administration in infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture, environmental development, rural transformation and governance.
He also highlighted the need for extensive publicity and proper documentation of the celebration, adding that a commemorative brochure detailing the administration’s accomplishments would be produced for future reference.
The statement further revealed that the Permanent Secretary for Research, Evaluation and Political Affairs, Umar Muhammad Jalo, would serve as secretary of the committee.
The committee has been mandated to ensure a successful anniversary celebration that reflects the administration’s commitment to people-focused governance and sustainable development across Kano State.
Gov. Yusuf pledges expanded youth empowerment to drive Kano’s economic growth
Meanwhile, TheRadar earlier reported that the Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, assured young people in the state of his administration’s continued commitment to youth empowerment as a catalyst for economic growth.
Speaking during the meeting, Yusuf emphasised that meaningful development cannot be achieved without the active participation of young people.
He said his government remains determined to expand opportunities for youths and integrate them more fully into governance and leadership structures.
