- Ned Nwoko's team has dismissed rumours that he plans to marry Chika Ike as his seventh wife or that she is pregnant with his child, issuing an official statement to clarify the matter
- The statement also refuted claims that Nwoko made comments about Tuface and polygamy
- Following the statement, Regina Daniels deleted her Instagram account, fueling further speculation about her connection to the paternity of Chika Ike's baby
Ned Nwoko's director of communication has issued a statement addressing the recent rumours about Nollywood actress Chika Ike.
Speculation had spread that Nwoko was planning to marry the Nollywood actress as his seventh wife and that she was pregnant with his child, following her baby bump reveal.
In a statement shared on Nwoko's official Instagram page (@princenednwoko), which included images of him with his wife, Regina Daniels, and their children, his team strongly rejected the rumours, calling them "entirely baseless and a product of malicious speculation."
The statement also denied reports that Nwoko had made comments about famous musician 2Baba and polygamy, emphasising that as a public figure, Nwoko often faces false stories from bloggers seeking attention.
Nwoko’s office further clarified that the senator, currently focused on his national duties, has no time for distractions. They urged journalists to verify information before publishing and warned of the potential consequences of spreading fake news. The public was advised to ignore the rumours and trust only official statements from his office.
The statement read;
“Our attention has been drawn to the recent false rumors alleging that Senator Prince Ned Munir Nwoko is planning to marry Nollywood actress Chika Ike as his seventh wife and that she is pregnant for him.
“We categorically state that these claims are entirely baseless and a product of malicious speculation. Similarly, reports claiming he made statements about Tuface and polygamy are completely untrue.
“As a public figure and with his wife also being an actress, it is not unusual for bloggers seeking attention to fabricate such stories. However, Senator Nwoko is currently on a national assignment, focused on delivering on his political mandate, and has no time for distractions.
“This office remains available to journalists for verification of information, and we remind media practitioners of the consequences of spreading fake news. The public is advised to disregard these rumors and rely only on official statements from his office.”
This statement helped address several questions about the swirling rumours, particularly regarding the identity of the baby’s father.
Initially, the narrative had taken an unexpected turn when Regina Daniels, wife of the billionaire businessman deleted her Instagram account, prompting further curiosity and concern among fans and followers.
On February 10, Chika Ike posted photos of her baby bump, a moment typically met with celebration and congratulations from her well-wishers. Yet, amidst the joy, a section of social media users hastily attributed the paternity to Ned Nwoko—Regina Daniels' husband.
These rumours gained traction after a post from the controversial anonymous blogger Gistlover ignited the debate and speculation across multiple platforms.
The blog posted on its Instagram page, stating;
“Hello Tueh Tueh, GLB NATION Wahala don happen, Ha, Ha, Ha… Another senior Actress don born for Billionaire, little Billionaire wife dons run comot for Instagram, Ah, which kind whaala be this, Ah, this is messy 000, Billionaire wife don run 000, Ha, GLB NATION who go settle this matter,"
The controversy is further complicated by a history of rivalry between Chika Ike and Regina Daniels. Back in 2020, Rita Daniels, Regina's mother, publicly accused Chika of attempting to steal her daughter's husband. Rita Daniels didn’t hold back, allegedly threatening Chika: “She will fight Chika Ike physically and spiritually if she doesn’t stop.”
However, after facing backlash from netizens, she denied threatening Chika Ike.
In the course of the controversy, some social media users also speculated that Regina Daniel's departure from Instagram was connected to newly union involving Laila Charani, another woman linked to Ned Nwoko
However, the recent statement from Ned Nwoko's team has clarified the rumours surrounding Chika Ike, but the mystery surrounding Regina Daniels' deleted Instagram account continues to stimulate the interest of netizens as they seek answers as to why the actress abruptly removed her social media presence.
