Nollywood actress and wife of Senator Ned Nwoko, Regina Daniels, has come under fire on social media for advising Nigerians to protest peacefully.
In a video that has gone viral on social media, Regina Daniels urged Nigerians to shun violence and protest peacefully in order to ensure that their voices are heard.
She said” We all know that the masses are suffering, we all know that the masses want a better way of living, hence the protest and there is nothing wrong in protesting and nothing wrong in protesting for change and a better way of living, nothing wrong in airing your voices, but there is everything wrong in violence. Once violence gets involved, it defeats the whole purpose of the protest.
“So, please, I urge everyone to try and make this protest as peaceful as possible so that the voice of the masses will be heard and actions will be taken on it and everyone will return to their homes in one piece. We have seen series of violent protests, we know how it all went. All we can hope and pray for is that this protest goes differently and still your voices will be heard and actions will be taken on it. Once again, this is a call for a peaceful protest. Thank you.”
Many already provoked netizens took to social media and took turns to insult and abuse her.
Some Nigerians said if the country were to be good, she would not have married a person old enough to be her grandfather. Others thought she was not the right person to dish out advice to Nigerians.

Isn’t your husband part of the people in the government that the masses are complaining about? You should have just kept quiet. You have no business talking about this especially since you made your decision and that makes your intentions clear enough. There’s nothing for you to say Regina. Enjoy and I hope you feel fulfilled in the long run.”
