  • In a recent podcast interview, Nigerian singer Portable stirred controversy by referring to Zlatan as an "upcoming artiste" and questioning his fame, claiming that some wealthy individuals are unaware of him
  • Portable accused Zlatan of not standing up for Naira Marley and posting a video of Mohbad's attacker, insinuating that Zlatan's actions contributed to Naira Marley's struggles in the justice for Mohbad movement

His comments have garnered reactions from netizens on social media

In a recent podcast interview with Echoroom, controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, known as Portable, aired his grievances regarding fellow Nigerian artiste Zlatan, sparking fresh debate on social media.

When asked about his relationship with Zlatan, Portable dissmissed his relevance, stating,

"To me, Zlatan is not a well-known artiste but rather an upcoming artiste."

He recounted an encounter at a car dealership, where the owner criticized him for engaging with Zlatan, suggesting the artist was using Portable for clout chasing to gain attention. Portable recalled the conversation, saying,

There was a time I went to get a car, and the owner of the car dealing shop was telling me that I should not have answered that guy, Zlatan. He even confessed that he had never heard his song before.” He added,
“For real, some men are rich and haven't even heard about Zlatan. What song does he sing? Can you compare it to what I just sang here?”

Portable also expressed his admiration for the late artist Mohbad, saying,

May God keep Mohbad; he sings well; they deceived him, but they cannot deceive me.”

When pressed about who he believed had deceived Mohbad, Portable avoided the question but further criticised Zlatan, insinuating that his actions contributed to Naira Marley's struggles.

“Why did Zlatan post the video of Sam Larry's attack on Mohbad? And went ahead to be in the same space with Mohbad’s attacker? And you truly know that they had nothing to do with Mohbad's death?”

He went on to question Zlatan's loyalty, asking,

“Why didn’t Zlatan stand for Naira Marley? In Nigeria, he is another person I like. Naira Marley became viral from the outside, and then Olamide backed him up. He is a glory.”

Portable's remarks have since sparked widespread attention and backlash on social media, with many netizens weighing in on the contentious relationship between the two artistes.
