  • A Lagos has ordered the retraction of the alleged defamation videos about Femi Falana and his son, Falz

A Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja has ordered social media influencer Martins Ortse, popularly known as VeryDarKMan, to take down all defamatory content against human rights lawyer Femi Falana and his son, Falz, from social media.

VeryDarkMan had allegedly defamed the Falanas through his comments in a leaked video purportedly made by Bobrisky. The social media influencer suggested that the Falanas played a role in Bobrisky’s attempt to secure amnesty while in prison custody.

Following the controversy VeryDarkMan’s allegations generated from the public, Falana, through his law firm, demanded a retraction of the said allegation, but VeryDarkMan denied the allegations.

Delivering judgment on Monday, October 14, Justice M. Dawodu ordered VeryDarkMan and his associates to take down the defamatory videos posted on September 24, 2024, across all social media platforms. The order also restrained VeryDarkMan from publishing further defamatory allegations against the Falanas.

The said documents are to be delivered via VeryDarkMan’s lawyer Deji Adeyanju and must be filed within a 14 day period and failure to comply will result in the lapsing of the court’s directive after 21 days from the date of ruling.

Meanwhile, in response to the court order, VeryDarkMan posted a video of himself hissing nonchalantly on his Instagram page on Tuesday, October 15.
