Daughter to popular human rights activist, Femi Falana and sister to Afrobeats singer, Falz, Folakemi Falana has reacted to the accusations of bribery and corruption from social media influencer, VeryDarkMan.
Folakemi fumed at the several allegations of VeryDarkMan and how Nigerians’ reactions, with many believing the homosexuality defamation.
She shared screenshots of news reports showing her father’s history of seeking presidential pardon since 2016. She also emphasized that anyone can request for a pardon for a convicted person in Nigeria.
This was a reminder to Nigerians of who her father was as a human rights activist and times he sought a presidential pardon for petty thieves and imprisoned soldiers for free.
In a long Instagram write-up on Friday, September 27, Folakemi clarified that her father had never spoken to Bobrisky and that Bobrisky only reached out to her brother for financial assistance, not a presidential pardon.
“My parents and our Firm, Falana & Falana have been applying for presidential pardons for Nigerians FREE way before a lot of you were born or before you could talk. Slide 1 is 2016 and Slide 2 is from 2022. It's crazy that some Nigerians act like they can't read or think for themselves. It's unfortunate.
It's crazier that all it takes is for a ridiculous character like VDM to accuse my dad and Falz for bribery, corruption and perversion of justice and you suddenly forget who they are and what they stand for.
For him to have the audacity to go as far as accusing Falz of being homosexual and having an affair with Bobrisky is wild. The fact that some of you believe it, is what is blowing my mind. VeryDarkMan, seeing as you have refused to do the needful, #verydarkblackman see you in court,” she part wrote on her page.
Bobrisky Saga: Falz gives VeryDarkMan 24-hour ultimatum to retract alleged defamatory comments
Earlier, TheRadar reported that following the viral audio of Bobrisky released by VeryDarkMan, singer Falz broke his silence to demand a retraction of VeryDarkMan’s defamatory comments on social media.
In one of his social media posts, VeryDarkMan had said that he would be disappointed if Falz and his father, Femi Falana were involved with Bobrisky's alleged bribery scheme.
The video also suggested that Falz had reached out to Bobrisky while his father, Femi Falana took N10 million to help him (Bobrisky) get a pardon for his charges.
