Following a viral audio of Bobrisky’s conversation released by VeryDarkMan, Nigerian singer Folarin Falana, Falz has broken his silence to demand retraction from VeryDarkMan over his alleged defamatory comments.
In one of his social media posts playing Bobrisky’s leaked audio over a call, VeryDarkMan said he would be disappointed if Falz and his father, Femi Falana were involved with Bobrisky's alleged bribery scheme.
The video also suggested that Falz had reached out to Bobrisky while his father, Femi Falana took N10 million to help him (Bobrisky) get a pardon for his charges.
In an X (formerly Twitter) post, on Wednesday, September 25, Falz shared a letter from his lawyer addressing the claims of VeryDarkMan via the released audio recordings.
Falz’s letter addressing VeryDarKMan’s statements about him
The letter titled Demand for ‘Withdrawal and Retraction of Defamatory Statement Against mr Folarin Falana A.K.A Falz’ read in part:
“Your publication of September 25, on your Instagram page captioned, “In Everything and everyone that is mentioned here, I will be disappointed if truly FALZ and his father are involved in this whole Bobrisky issue…” has been drawn to our notice wherein you made some defamatory statements against our client.
To set the records straight, our client never at any point initiated a conversation with Mr Idris Okuneye. Our client documentary evidence that Mr Idris was in fact the one who initiated a call.”
The letter further stated the ultimatum for VeryDarkMan to withdraw his statements, “Be advised that if we do not receive your formal retraction and apology as demanded in 24 hours of the receipt hereof, we shall proceed with our client’s instructions to seek appropriate legal remedies, including monetary damages against you…”
In April, Bobrisky was arrested following the investigations of the EFCC. The charges spurred by social media video evidence showed the crossdresser throwing money in the air at a movie premier, leading to the arrest and later, 6 months imprisonment.
