- Singer Falz recently gave VeryDarkMan a 24-hour ultimatum demanding a retraction of his social media defamatory comments
- In an official legal letter, VeryDarkMan has denied Falz’s claim of defamation
- VeryDarkman also noted that he didn't defame Falz’s father Femi Falana but only published information to notify the relevant agencies to take action
Social media influencer Martins Ortse, popularly known as VeryDarKMan, has denied the claims of Afrobeats singer Falz that VeryDarkMan defamed him.
This comes on the heels of an official letter signed and released to the public stating how VeryDarkMan defamed Falz through comments he made about the singer on social media.
A 24-hour ultimatum was given to VeryDarkMan to retract the alleged defamatory comments or face a suit including monetary damages.
In an Instagram video, on Wednesday, September 25, VeryDarkMan, insisted that he didn't defame Falz’s father Femi Falana and the respect he has for the Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
“First of all, I did not defame Uncle Femi Falana and I will never ever defame Uncle Femi Falana. He is someone I respect, not because of his position as SAN but because of what he has used the position to do, representing the likes of me,” he said.
VeryDarkMan further clarified what he truly meant in the video and how it was only to get an investigation into Bobrisky’s allegations in the audio recording.
Falz’s alleged defamation is in connection to audio recordings of popular crossdresser Bobrisky. The audio was released by VeryDarkMan to prove that Bobrisky bribed the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to evade his jail term.
Falz defamation: What VeryDarkMan’s solicitor letter says
In response, VeryDarkMan through a legal letter circulating online, on September 25, set the records straight to clarify his comments about Falz.
It read in part, “Our client is in receipt of your letter dated September 25, 2024, on the above subject matter wherein you demanded for the retraction of his Instagram publication containing a voice recording between Mr Idris Okuneye Olarenwaju (Bobrisky) and a third party.

Our client denies defaming Mr Femi Falana, SAN, a renowned Senior Advocate of Nigeria and globally recognised human rights activist but asserts that he only published the said communication with a view to getting the relevant agencies,
and even your client, to initiate a thorough investigation into the far-reaching allegations made by Mr Okuneye in the said voice recording, especially as some element of the voice recording has been confirmed by Mr. Folarin Falana in his solicitor letter of September 25, 2024.”
The letter further noted that VeryDarkMan holds Mr Femi Falana, SAN in very high esteem and recognises his commitment to the protection of human rights and the rule of law in Nigeria.
Bobrisky Saga: Falz gives VeryDarkMan 24-hour ultimatum to retract alleged defamatory comments
Earlier, TheRadar reported that following the viral audio of Bobrisky released by VeryDarkMan, Falz broke his silence to demand a retraction of VeryDarkMan’s defamatory comments.
In one of his social media posts playing Bobrisky’s leaked audio over a call, VeryDarkMan had said that he would be disappointed if Falz and his father, Femi Falana were involved with Bobrisky's alleged bribery scheme.
