A viral video has stirred controversy and scepticism among Nigerians after making alarming claims about actress Annie Idibia’s health.

The video, which surfaced on social media on Monday, February 24, was originally posted on Saturday, February 22. 

In the clip, an unidentified woman alleged that Annie, the ex-wife of the music Icon 2Baba, has been hospitalised and is battling a life-threatening condition that may require the amputation of one of her legs. 

The woman, with the handle @cboss_hotline247, attributed Annie's alleged condition to excessive drug use. She further alleged that Annie agreed to end her marriage to 2Baba and had given her blessing for his engagement to another woman, Natasha Osawaru.

In the video, she stated, "Annie Idibia has finally agreed to be amputated on her leg while we are all here believing she's fighting for her mental health. She is in the hospital fighting for her life.”

However, these claims have sparked outrage and scepticism among netizens, with many accusing the woman of spreading false information. 

These allegations come weeks after 2Baba announced in January 2025 that he and Annie had separated and filed for divorce.

At the time of press, the accuracy of these claims remains uncertain, and neither Annie Idibia nor her representatives have publicly confirmed or denied the allegations.

Meanwhile, TheRadar earlier reported that celebrities like Toke Makinwa, Biodun Okeowo, and Ifedayo Agoro slammed 2Baba for announcing his divorce from Annie Idibia on social media, calling it insensitive and wrong. 

Toke Makinwa commented on 2Baba's post, stating that she and other women will fight for Annie Idibia, while Biodun Okeowo lamented about the divorce announcement which ignited further reactions from netizens as they weighed in on the controversy.
