In a bid to streamline administration for more effective governance, President Tinubu has announced a significant reshuffle of his cabinet, which has elicited mixed reactions from the Nigerian public.

During a Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Wednesday, October 23, the Presidency confirmed the dismissal of five ministers, the appointment of seven new ministers, and the reassignment of 10 ministers to different ministries.

Bianca Ojukwu, the second wife of the late Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu who led the Republic of Biafra on May 30th 1967 was among the seven appointed ministers.  

Details of this ministerial reshuffle were outlined in an official statement titled “Statement on the Restructuring of Ministries and Ministerial Portfolios.”

The President’s restructuring efforts are part of a broader initiative aimed at enhancing government efficiency and consolidating several ministries. However, despite these intentions, many Nigerians have expressed concerns about the implications and effectiveness of the changes.

In light of the announcement, TheRadar has compiled a range of public reactions surrounding the cabinet reshuffle in the country.

Nigerians react to recent cabinet reshuffle

“Tinubu is just trying to buy everyone he thinks that would compromise his government to carry out his agenda. Let just say, he’s playing the game smartly and he’s good at it,” Dove stated. 

“That is what Mr President is trying to do just want to buy all the people ahead of 2027 election is it this man is very smart,” Ojo Adisa reacted. 

“Games! Tilumbu is playing games.

I won’t fault Lady Bianca if she does accept, but I earnestly hope that she turns him down. It would be a huge statement,” OfficialUre added. 

“Sack five ministers and hire seven, In the words of DELE MOMODU, give TINUBU from now till Jesus comes he will end up failing spectacular,” Chika Agina stated. 

“There is no future for this country if every appointment is treated as recompense and people continue to celebrate these leaders. Every Nigerian understands the true nature of the country's problems, but we are all too weak to address them,” Praise Mega stated. 

“How many ministers this man want to appoint self? A month never ends without any appointments 😞,” Olarewaju Murphy Olamide stated. 

“Baba took Bosun Tijjani from the Obedients, and now took Bianca from APGA. Baba is indeed the real unifier. Lol,”  IbrahimAbuUmar1 added.

Meanwhile, TheRadar earlier reported that President Tinubu's cabinet reshuffle included the dismissal of  Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye from the Ministry of Women's Affairs.

Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye's dismissal caused celebrations among the staff of the Ministry of Women's Affairs.
