Federal government unveils GovGuideNigeria AI platform for easier public services.
  • The Federal Government has launched GovGuideNigeria, an AI-powered platform aimed at simplifying access to government services and information
  • The AI platform provides access to information from more than 35 federal ministries and over 60 government agencies
  • The initiative is designed to bridge language and information gaps, especially for underserved communities and low-literacy users

The Federal Government has unveiled GovGuideNigeria, a new artificial intelligence-powered platform designed to make access to government services and information easier for Nigerians.

Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani, announced the launch on Thursday, May 21,  through a statement shared on his X handle.

According to the Minister, the platform is part of ongoing efforts to improve public service delivery through digital innovation and emerging technologies.

GovGuideNigeria is available on both WhatsApp and the web, and supports four major Nigerian languages, English, Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba, to ensure broader accessibility for citizens across the country.

Tijani explained that the platform gives Nigerians easier access to information from over 35 federal ministries and more than 60 government agencies.

He noted that the initiative is especially targeted at underserved communities and citizens who face language or literacy barriers when trying to access government information.

“Today, we launched GovGuideNigeria, an AI-powered platform designed to make access to government information simpler, faster, and more inclusive for every Nigerian,” the Minister said.

He added that the initiative reflects the administration’s commitment to using artificial intelligence and digital technologies to deliver practical benefits to citizens.

The launch also builds on previous government efforts in the AI sector. Two years ago, the Ministry introduced Nigeria’s first multilingual Large Language Model known as N-ATLAS.

N-ATLAS was developed to preserve and digitise Nigeria’s linguistic diversity while supporting the creation of datasets for inclusive AI solutions.

The project was launched through a collaboration involving Nigerian AI company Awarritech, DataDotOrg, National Information Technology Development Agency, and National Centre for AI and Robotics.

Tijani revealed that GovGuideNigeria was developed through a partnership involving the National Centre for AI and Robotics, Meta, and Publica.

“I appreciate the strong collaboration between NCAIR, Meta, and Publica in bringing this important initiative to life,” he stated.

The Minister encouraged Nigerians to take advantage of the platform to access government-related services and information more conveniently.

The launch comes as the Federal Government continues to push for deeper digital transformation across public institutions.

In recent months, the Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy has intensified efforts around AI policy development, digital infrastructure expansion, and technology-driven reforms aimed at improving citizen engagement and boosting economic productivity.

The government also recently disclosed that it is working with innovators, startups, and industry stakeholders to co-create an AI governance framework that will ensure the responsible and inclusive growth of artificial intelligence in Nigeria.

Meta unveils AI support assistant to tackle scams, boost user safety

Meanwhile, TheRadar earlier reported that Meta Platforms unveiled a suite of new artificial intelligence tools aimed at improving user support and strengthening safety across its platforms, including Facebook and Instagram.

Central to the update is the global rollout of the Meta AI support assistant, a tool designed to provide round-the-clock assistance for users facing account-related challenges such as password recovery, privacy adjustments, and profile management.

The company explained that the assistant is built to fully resolve issues rather than offer partial guidance.
