Silverbird Group founder, Ben Murray-Bruce, has announced the appointment of Mr Roy Murray-Bruce as the new Chairman of the conglomerate, marking a significant leadership transition within one of Africa’s leading media and entertainment organisations.
The announcement was made on Thursday via Ben Murray-Bruce’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle, where he confirmed that Roy Murray-Bruce would succeed him after decades of leadership at the helm of the business empire.
In his statement, the former Silverbird president praised Roy Murray-Bruce’s extensive experience, describing him as a seasoned leader with over four decades of expertise in governance, business development and organisational management.
He noted that Roy Murray-Bruce had played a key role in the growth and diversification of Silverbird Group, particularly in expanding its footprint across television, radio, cinema operations, retail ventures and real estate development.
“As former President of Silverbird Group, he played a significant role in the expansion of our organisation across television, radio, cinemas, retail, and property development, while helping pioneer Cineplex culture in Nigeria and West Africa,” Ben Murray-Bruce said.
He added that he was confident in the new chairman’s ability to steer the organisation into its next phase of growth, innovation and regional expansion.
“I am confident that under his leadership, Silverbird Group will continue its commitment to excellence, innovation, growth, and industry leadership across Africa,” he stated.
