The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially resumed its electronic membership registration exercise, calling on both existing and prospective members to participate in the nationwide initiative.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the APC confirmed that the e-registration process is now operational across all wards and designated centres nationwide.

The party urged existing members to validate their personal details, while encouraging new applicants to enrol and join what it described as “the progressive family”. According to the guidelines, applicants must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN) to complete the registration process.

The APC explained that the initiative forms part of its broader efforts to modernise party administration through digital innovation. By transitioning to an electronic system, the party aims to improve transparency, ensure data accuracy and strengthen internal organisational efficiency.

Among the key objectives outlined, the APC said the platform would digitise its membership register, safeguard the integrity of party records and provide reliable data to support planning and decision-making processes. Party officials also believe the system will enhance internal democracy by establishing a credible and verifiable membership database.

Morka described the resumption of the exercise as a significant milestone in the party’s evolution towards a more technology-driven structure. He noted that the adoption of digital tools would help eliminate administrative bottlenecks that have historically affected membership management.

The development comes amid ongoing efforts by the APC to streamline its internal structures ahead of future electoral cycles. Party leaders maintain that the electronic registration system will ensure that only eligible Nigerians are captured in its official database, thereby strengthening the credibility of its processes.

Members and interested individuals have been advised to visit their respective ward offices or designated registration centres to participate in the exercise.

Political observers suggest that the move reflects a growing trend among Nigerian political parties to embrace digital systems in order to enhance transparency, efficiency and accountability in their operations.
