The North-West zone of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced a comprehensive strategy aimed at delivering a sweeping electoral victory for President Bola Tinubu and all party candidates in the 2027 general elections.

The resolution was reached during the zone’s maiden meeting held in Kaduna, shortly after its zonal congress conducted on 25 March 2026. According to a statement issued by the Zonal Publicity Secretary, Musa Mada, the meeting was presided over by the National Vice Chairman (North-West), Garba Muhammad.

During the session, party leaders deliberated on strategies to consolidate the region’s long-standing status as Nigeria’s highest vote-producing bloc in presidential elections since 1999. The North-West has historically played a decisive role in determining electoral outcomes, making it a focal point in early campaign planning.

The statement revealed that the zonal leadership resolved to collaborate closely with key stakeholders across the seven states in the region. The aim, it said, is to ensure total victory for the APC at all levels, including the re-election of President Tinubu, APC governors, and members of both the National and State Assemblies.

“The meeting focused on taking measures that will ensure the zone sustains its leading position in producing the highest number of votes for any candidate who emerges President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” the statement noted.

A central pillar of the strategy is the adoption of a “campaign of facts”, designed to highlight the achievements of the Tinubu administration under its Renewed Hope Agenda. According to the party, the campaign will focus on verifiable progress in infrastructure, education, healthcare, security, and broader developmental initiatives across the North-West.

The statement also pointed to the role of the North-West Development Commission as a key driver of growth in the region, describing it as a flagship intervention of the current administration.

On internal cohesion, the APC leadership stressed the importance of unity, warning that any divisions within the party could weaken its electoral prospects. It pledged to remain vigilant in addressing potential fractures as preparations for the 2027 elections intensify.

“The zone insists on maintaining the existing peaceful atmosphere that has kept the party united,” the statement added, emphasising efforts to proactively resolve disputes.

The party further declared its readiness to counter opposition narratives, accusing rival groups of spreading misinformation aimed at undermining its credibility.

With this early mobilisation effort, the APC North-West has signalled its determination to retain its electoral dominance and deliver decisive support for the ruling party in 2027.

Senate clears Tinubu’s $6bn loan plan to fund budget gap, ports upgrade

Meanwhile, TheRadar earlier reported that the Nigerian Senate had approved President Bola Tinubu’s request to secure external loans totaling $6 billion, a move aimed at addressing fiscal shortfalls and funding key infrastructure projects.

The approval followed the consideration of a report presented by the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Local and Foreign Debts, Aliyu Wamakko, representing Sokoto North. The decision came shortly after the President formally transmitted his request to the Senate, signaling the Executive’s urgency in sourcing funds for priority sectors of the economy.
