The All Progressives Congress (APC) has extended heartfelt congratulations to Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa on his election in the just-concluded Ondo State governorship election.
Aiyedatiwa, who secured 366,781 votes across all 18 local government areas, defeated his closest rival, Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who garnered 117,845 votes.
In a statement released on Sunday, November 17, by Felix Morka, the APC National Publicity Secretary, the party hailed Aiyedatiwa’s victory as a clear reflection of his administration’s successful policies and the deep connection he has with the people of Ondo State.
The statement read, “The All Progressives Congress (APC) heartily congratulates the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on his re-election. Your Excellency’s resounding victory in the just-concluded Ondo State gubernatorial election is a clear attestation that your administration’s policies and programmes, and campaign message of hope and consolidation, have resonated deeply with the electorate.”
The APC emphasised that the overwhelming support for Aiyedatiwa across the state underscores the confidence the people have in his leadership and the progress his government has made over the past four years.
The statement further expressed confidence that with the renewed mandate, Aiyedatiwa will continue to advance the state's social and economic development for the benefit of all Ondo citizens.
“We are confident that you will build upon your accomplishments and take the state to even greater heights of social and economic development,” the APC stated.
The party also took the opportunity to commend the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, and the people of Ondo State for their professionalism and peaceful conduct throughout the election process.
“We commend the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the security agencies for their professionalism and patriotism in the discharge of their constitutional roles during the election,” the statement read.
“We thank the Ondo electorate for their sustained and highly valued support of our great Party.”
Aiyedatiwa’s victory, announced by the State Returning Officer, Prof. Olayemi Akinwumi, at the State Collation Centre in Akure, signals continued APC leadership in the state.
As the election results are officially certified, the party and Aiyedatiwa's supporters are already preparing for the next phase of governance, confident that his second term will be one of growth and greater achievements for Ondo State.

Meanwhile, TheRadar earlier reported that the governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Agboola Ajayi, had emerged victorious in his polling unit in the ongoing Ondo State gubernatorial election.
Ajayi, who cast his vote at Apoi Ward II, Unit 004 in Kiribo, Ese Odo Local Government Area, polled 194 votes to defeat his main rival, Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who managed to secure only 3 votes.
