- According to the latest results from the Ondo gubernatorial election, APC holds a commanding lead with 268,144 votes, based on results from 15 LGAs. PDP trails with 79,125 votes
- The INEC has temporarily suspended collation, to resume at 12 PM for further processing and verification
- With results from three LGAs yet to be counted, the odds are in the favour of the ruling party, APC
The official results for the 2024 Ondo State gubernatorial election, as compiled by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), show a commanding lead for the All Progressives Congress (APC) after results from 15 local government areas (LGAs) have been announced.
As of the latest update, the APC has garnered 268,144 votes, significantly ahead of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which trails with 79,125 votes.
The ongoing collation process, which began earlier today, Sunday, November 17, has seen the completion of results from over half of Ondo’s 18 local government areas. However, three LGAs remain, with the full picture yet to emerge.
Despite this, the APC’s commanding lead of 189,019 votes suggests they are well on track to secure victory, barring any unforeseen developments in the remaining areas.
The INEC has announced that the collation of results will be temporarily suspended and will resume at 12 PM, allowing time for further processing and verification.
The delay has sparked anticipation among political observers and supporters as both parties await the final tally.
While the APC’s performance is dominant thus far, not much is expected to change in the final outcome when the results from the remaining local governments have been compiled.
