- Joseph Aloba, father of the late singer Mohbad, has vowed to take legal action against his daughter-in-law, Wunmi, regardless of the outcome of the DNA test on Liam.
- Aloba expressed frustration over the slow progress in the investigation into Mohbad’s death, questioning the lack of significant updates
- He stressed that his primary concern is uncovering the truth behind his son’s passing and ensuring Liam’s safety, rather than pursuing any material gain
Joseph Aloba, father of the late singer Mohbad, has revealed his intention to take legal action against his daughter-in-law, Wunmi, regardless of the outcome of the DNA test to confirm Liam’s paternity.
Speaking in an interview with Agbaletu TV on Wednesday, February 26, Aloba dismissed claims that he was after his grandson’s inheritance and insisted that his primary concern was the child’s well-being.
Aloba accused Wunmi of negligence, alleging that she exposed Liam to unsafe environments at a young age.
He specifically criticised her for taking the baby to shows where people were smoking when he was just five months old. He also claimed that Liam was recently taken to Ibadan without his knowledge.
“Even if DNA proves that Liam is my grandson, I will sue her because how can they be taking a 5-month-old boy to shows where there are lots of weed smokers. Recently, I saw that they took him to Ibadan," he said.
Regarding his son, Aloba revealed in the interview that he was kept in the dark about his son's death. He expressed his determination to uncover the truth, demanding a DNA test for Liam and seeking answers about Mohbad's passing.
The grieving father emphasised that he wasn't interested in his son's properties, but rather in finding closure.
“I knew nothing about Mohbad's death. When my son passed, Wunmi was the first person I asked questions because she's his wife,” he explained.
Joseph Aloba appeals to the government
Aloba further appealed to the Lagos State government for assistance, urging them to help him get to the bottom of Mohbad's death and questioning the status of the forensic investigation.
He questioned the absence of answers, despite the presence of cameras inside and outside the house. "What about Forensic? Please help me, I don't know what to do anymore,"
Aloba emphasised that his priority is uncovering the truth about Mohbad's death and ensuring Liam's well-being, rather than seeking properties or material gain.
"DNA is very very important. My major concerns now are what killed Mohbad and if the child he left behind is my grandson. You won't see me asking about properties. Help me beg the government because I'm tired, I don't know what else to do.\,” he stated.

“My life got better after the death of my son,” says Mohbad’s father
Meanwhile, TheRadar earlier reported that Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, admitted that his life turned around for the better after the death of his son.
The cleric accused the late singer’s wife, Wunmi, of being a barrier to enabling his son to take care of him while he (Mohbad) was alive.
