- Nigerian singer Seun Kuti has finally addressed allegations circulating on social media that he betrayed VeryDarkMan by apologising to Femi Falana
- Seun Kuti clarified that he had no plans to fight Femi Falana and he had no such discussions with VeryDarkMan
- He further distanced himself from the Bribery and corruption saga, noting that he has told VeryDarkMan from sharing any of such stories with him
Seun Kuti, who is a popular singer and youngest son to Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti, has addressed social media buzz alleging that he betrayed VeryDarkMan for apologising to Femi Falana.
Recently, Seun Kuti had revealed how he got first-hand information about the Bobrisky saga before the public. He also confirmed that he was the one that told VeryDarkMan to share the audio recording.
However, the video posted by VeryDarkMan on Bobrisky’s alleged bribery and corruption allegedly defamed renowned legal practitioner, Femi Falana and his son, Falz.
In a video, on Monday, October 7, Seun Kuti addressed the social media buzz and clarified his side of the alleged betrayal.
“This ring light owner, I saw a circulation yesterday of my name all over Instagram and Twitter saying Seun Kuti betrayed VeryDarkBlackMan because I apologised to my uncle that I did not plan to fight. Young people, you must learn something. I don't know who has taught you people this but you must learn that Rebellion is not disrespect. To be rebellious doesn't mean you're disrespectful.
“You think rebellion is to be rude. That is why una go come online, waste una time dey insult people. And na all this Hop Pop music because they help you people’s minds to be fucked up. So you think being rude is all you need. It's a lie. At no point did VeryDarkMan tell me that he wants to fight Femi Falana. At no point did I tell him that I wanted to fight Femi Falana. If Femi Falana now takes offense, it's only okay that we tell him sorry. Case closed and that's what happened.
“Do you think I'll be a good friend to tell VeryDarkMan to go and fight Femi Falana? VDM still calls me every day but I've banned him from telling me about his stories. Don't tell me anything you want to post again. Just go and post what you want to post before dem go say na Seun sent you again,” he explained.
