“Expose me” VeryDarkMan challenges TVC presenter, demands evidence over allegations

• Following Dee-One's interview with TVC, VeryDarkMan challenged the TVC Saturday Breakfast show presenter to provide evidence supporting claims about his identity and sexuality
• Earlier, VeryDarkMan had expressed interest in being invited to the show to defend himself against Dee-One’s allegations, but his request was met with silence
• In response, TVC stated on X that they had already extended an invitation to VeryDarkMan, which he had not acknowledged

Following the TVC interview featuring comedian and former Big Brother Naija housemate Aderombi Adedayo Martin, popularly known as Dee-One, Nigerian critic VeryDarkMan has challenged the station over its silence regarding his request for an interview to defend himself.

During the show, Dee-One allegedly presented evidence to a co-presenter, fueling controversy around VeryDarkMan’s identity and sexuality. 

In response, VeryDarkMan publicly requested a platform to address the claims, but TVC remained unresponsive. Instead, the station later stated on X (formerly Twitter) via @tvcnewsng that it had already invited him, though he allegedly ignored the invitation.

However, social media users quickly pointed out that TVC's invitation was sent to the wrong social media handle, making it inaccessible to VeryDarkMan.

TVC’s statement reads;

“This is to confirm that TVC News already extended an open invitation to Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, on Saturday, February 15th, following allegations made by comedian Deeone during our Weekend Breakfast Show as captured in the clip herein.

“We are using this avenue to reiterate the open invitation, and we are anticipating a Direct Message from VDM to confirm his willingness to come on the TVC Breakfast show next Saturday, 22nd February, to share his side of the story. @theverydarkman kindly send us a DM to fine-tune the details!”

In a new video posted on Tuesday, February 18, VeryDarkMan reiterated that he had yet to receive a formal invitation from TVC and called out the presenter who reportedly reviewed the alleged evidence.

"I am yet to receive an invite from TVC News to come and defend myself. Pending when I get the invite, you see this presenter, you are a fool! And you have no integrity," VeryDarkMan stated.

He further criticised the presenter, saying, "This is the way they push narratives, and this is evidence that shows that most of these News channels lack credibility."

VeryDarkMan also demanded that TVC reveal the evidence and post the video, saying, "While that interview was going on with 'the worm', they showed the presenter evidence and asked if he saw it which he confirmed affirmatively. But what evidence did you see? You will tell Nigerians and I want you to expose me."

He concluded, "I want you to post that video for the whole country to see. You must send that invitation and I must come to defend myself. I speak with proof, and that is why your narrative cannot win over truth.”

Meanwhile, TheRadar earlier reported that social media critic Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, responded to allegations made by Dee-One on the Honest Bunch podcast, where he was accused of being gay, hypocritical, and biased. 

VeryDarkMan threatened to reveal the identities of women whom podcast host Nedu allegedly claimed to have slept with, suggesting they were given a platform on the show, and also alleged that Nedu's podcast prioritises views, money, and gossip over meaningful discussions and serious issues affecting Nigerians.
