Former Big Brother Naija housemate Angel Smith has confirmed her breakup with fellow housemate Soma and alleged harassment from his ex-girlfriend’s friends.
Angel and Soma's relationship was one of the highlights of the Big Brother Naija All-Stars season that won the hearts of their fans. They had navigated through their rough edges at the time to become one of the most talked about couples on the show.
Angel’s confirmation was spurred after Soma’s ex, Hilda Dirisu, called out Soma over alleged infidelity and physical abuse in a long X thread.
Via her official X (formerly Twitter) page, Angel opened up about being harassed by Hilda’s friends and eventually confirmed that she and Soma are no longer together.
“but I must be the one to hold space for who did not hold space for me. I never insulted her, never shaded, never thought I was better than her and never knew what happened, you are scum of the earth, when my anxiety was at an all-time high, I moved graciously, fuck off.
“I left him and blocked him ever since this happened, I did not come and still claim him like a mad person but I should not be entitled to my feelings because of dizzy people,” Angel explained.
Angel wondered why Hilda blamed her (Angel) for what happened with Soma to play the victim. A Netizen seemed to be on Hilda's side with her call-out on Angel.
“How actually fucking dare you guys? Did I say I did not believe her, did I ever discount her story? all I asked is why I must be collateral? Why am I a prostitute? If she was a victim what made her think I was not one as well? Who is a perfect victim? When she shaded me for days not one word was said. It is Angel always, I have already accepted that the only time I will be loved is when I actually die.” Angel replied.
Soma’s previous alleged abusive symptoms surfaces
Threads about Soma and Angel's dissolved relationship flood the X timeline, with netizens drawing analysis and conclusions from what transpired.
One of such is the allegations that Soma had earlier shown a tendency to be abusive in a relationship considering the traits he exhibited on live TV during the BBNaija All-Stars season.
In one of the old videos of the couple in Big Brother's house, Soma was captured demanding that Angel must eat despite her resistance.
Another video showed Soma trying to hug and touch Angel, but she said no. He kept on pressing to do so despite her refusal.
His incessant push to talk to Angel during the 2023 season of their show had also reportedly earned him a strike issued by Big Brother for harassing Angel.
