Housemate Kingsley Oritsetimeyin, popularly known as Kellyrae, one of the DoubleKay pair, has emerged as the winner of Big Brother Naija (BBN) ‘No Loose Guard’ edition.
His latest win makes him the first married man ever to win the show after defeating seven other finalists to win an N60 million cash prize, an SUV, and other rewards.
Coming close as a strong contender to Kellyrae, was Wanni, who ranked up to the Top 2 finalists category before Kellyrae was announced winner.
Kellyrae, who entered the show with his wife, Kassia, on Sunday, October 6, was announced the winner to the buzz and excitement of social media.
The BBN ‘No Loose Guard’ finale was a star-studded one that featured guest performances from Joeboy and Qing Madi. It was hosted by Chukwuebuka Obi-Uchendu offering viewers a nostalgic look into the journey of each of the finalists.
The ‘No Loose Guard’ edition of the reality show premiered on July 24, with fierce competition among 14 pairs vying for the N100 million grand prize.The season ran for 10 weeks and featured weekly tasks, controversies, relationships, and eviction shows.
How Wanni and Kellyrae emerged Top 2
The last eviction and grand finale of the Big Brother Naija season 9 show saw 8 finalists, Anita, Nelly, Ozee, Onyeka, Sooj, Kellyrae, Wanni and Victoria.
With a series of evictions done in between the show, Anita, Nelly, Victoria, Sooj, Ozee and Onyeka were all evicted from the show. Kellyrae and Wanni after the evictions became the top 2 finalists to battle for the grand prize of N100 million.
Sharing how he felt about making it to the Top 2, Kellyrae noted that it was surprising to him as he never expected to make it as far as he did in the show.
He also touched on his winning strategy to disguise his wife as his friend and sister. “That's the biggest lie I've ever told in my life,” he said.
On her part, Wanni also expressed her surprise to be in the Top 2, emphasizing her gratitude for the love and support from fans.
BBNaija Season 9 Update: Tjay wins head of house challenge
Earlier TheRadar reported that Tjay emerged as the second solo Head of House for the season after competing in the Head of House Challenge. In the second solo Head of House challenge, Tjay beat all other 15 housemates to emerge as Head of House for week seven.
The Head of House challenge featured a game with four tasks. The housemates entered the webbed play area to carry out these tasks. They were to navigate their way through the webbs without ringing a bell. Each time a bell rang, the housemate waited for five minutes before continuing the challenge.
