Popular content creator Adebowale Adedayo, known as Mr Macaroni, has expressed his disappointment at the Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Toke Benson-Awoyinka, for allegedly assaulting a man in a viral video.
Benson was seen in the video raging at the man for recording her. She ordered the security to take the man outside and, in the process, slapped the man.
Via his official X (formerly Twitter) page, on Thursday, January 9, Mr Macaroni fumed at the actions of the commissioner, which he described as dictatorship.
According to him, it is appalling that once people get into political positions, they become dictators and expect that the citizens will be their slaves.
“Dear Mrs Toke Benson, who do you think you are that can't be recorded?? Ok. Commissioner? And so what?? You even have the temerity to ask “who is paying your salary” Is it your money? A public servant moving like a Dictator. Saying you will break a citizen’s phone and actually moving to do so?? Outrageous!!!
“And I heard another lady asking “do you know who you are talking to” Who are you? Who is she? Who are all of you gangan??? My goodness!!! It seems once you hold a political office in Nigeria you become Lord and Master and all Citizens must become your slaves??” Mr Macaroni tweeted.
Meanwhile, in a recent X post, the Lagos State Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry debunked the viral assault video.
It clarified what transpired, leading to the outburst of the Lagos Commissioner Toke Benson-Awoyinka. It further alleged that a senior member of the commissioner was assaulted instead.

Content creator Hauwa faces criticism, deletes controversial comment
Earlier, TheRadar reported that popular content creator and screenwriter Hauwa Lawal came under heavy criticism over a social media comment she made about Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W).
The criticism eventually led to the content creator deleting the comment. The content creators' reply sparked controversy, especially among the Muslim faithful, who considered her address to Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) as ‘that man’ disrespectful.
