Nigerians have reacted to recent comments made by Bala Ibrahim, the National Publicity Director of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), who expressed confidence that President Tinubu would secure a second term in office.

Ibrahim spoke optimistically about the long-term benefits of President Bola Tinubu's economic reforms, adding that Nigerians would soon recognise and appreciate the positive outcomes of these reforms, leading to widespread public support for the president.

APC predicts Tinubu’s 2027 success despite opposition’s hopes

“With the way and manner this administration of APC is working assiduously, bringing in new reforms and changes that are painful initially, we will reap the gains and fruits in the long run.

“We expect to start seeing the fruits of these reforms right around the time of the election. That should be around 2026 and 2027. It is at that time people will start clapping for the party and the president.

“It will be almost impossible for someone to come from the outside, particularly an outsider that has failed the country before; an outsider that cannot contain its own crisis, to think of defeating the incumbent. It will be very difficult. The APC and the president are very much aware of this expectation and shenanigans of the opposition.

“But it is not to say that the party and the president are sleeping. No, they are strategising ahead. So, when we get to the bridge, we will see who have the strongest stride to cross it. And I assure you, the APC will not be found nothing. It will not be caught napping,” Ibrahim stated

The APC the National Publicity Director made this statement while addressing the recent defeat of the US Vice President Kamala Harris by former President Donald Trump in the November 6 US elections.

He cautioned opposition parties in Nigeria not to become too hopeful, drawing a parallel between Trump's political comeback and Tinubu's potential for re-election in 2027.

Nigerians react to APC’s bold statement for Tinubu’s 2027 re-election

The APC's statements have sparked a range of reactions from Nigerians, with many expressing concerns about the APC's confidence in Tinubu’s 2027 prospects.

Here are some of the public reactions compiled by TheRadar:

“That is ur opinion. We Nigerians are the cabals now. APC must go. Enough of the surfering and oppression. Minimum wage is yet to be implemented 4 after agreement was reached but vp's house in Lagos renovated with 5 billions”  Cotebhi stated.

“He can't win. All the opposition needs to do is unite. Either way Nigeria is gone if the foundation isn't fixed,” Taiwo reacted.

“With MC Oluomo Installation as the National President of the NURTW, Mahmood as the INEC Chairman and Wike’s Family controlling the Judicial system, Who will argue?” Betwizard.com added.

“God would wipe them out before then 💯,” Rapture is coming mentioned.

“Through rigging? Pls educate your friends and parents against bad governments and who to vote for....this is serious,” Samuel O. Dada stated.

“Through the usual backdoor. Is there democracy in Nigeria?” Olaudah Equiano stated.

“As long as there’s no genuine electoral reform, there will be no election in Nigeria. He may as well continue with the criminal inec by competing with himself but one thing I know is that everyone will reap the what they sowed at the appropriate time,”  Julius reacted.?

“They'll not reap anything. They'll continue to prosper till their next generation and nothing will happen because we usually want God to fight for us while we're busy here fighting for God. Karma is dead and buried. It doesn't work on them,” Big ideas commented.
