The Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Delta State governor, Ossai Ovie Success, has offered a ₦500,000-per-month job and an all-expenses-paid trip to Comfort Emmanson, the Ibom Air passenger released on Tuesday from Kirikiri Correctional Centre.

Ossai announced the offer on Instagram, describing Emmanson as “courageous” and inviting her to Delta State for a fully funded visit that includes flights, five-star hotel accommodation, a guided tour of the state’s attractions, and a VIP ticket to the Delta Social Media Summit scheduled for August 28 in Asaba.

“This is our way of showing compassion and giving someone who has been through a difficult ordeal a fresh start,” Ossai said.

Arrest and release of Comfort Emmanson

Emmanson was arrested on August 10, 2025, at Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos following an altercation with an Ibom Air crew member during disembarkation. She was arraigned the next day on charges of “disrupting a public service” and remanded to Kirikiri Correctional Centre.

Her detention prompted an online campaign under the hashtag #FreeComfort, with activists and supporters condemning the arrest as excessive.

She was released on August 12, 2025, after two nights in custody, following legal interventions and pressure from human rights groups.
