Eligibility criteria for China Link scholarship 

To be considered for the China Link Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health.
• Applicants must have a solid academic record and demonstrate leadership potential or achievements. 
• Under 45 years for general scholars; under 50 for senior scholars
• Language Requirements:

Chinese-taught programs: HSK Band 4 with scores above 180

English-taught programs: TOEFL (560 paper-based/78 internet-based) or IELTS (6.0), with exemptions for native English speakers.

• Passport Copy
• Highest diploma and academic transcripts (notarized)
• Language proficiency proof (HSK, IELTS, or TOEFL)
• Pre-admission letter from a Chinese university or supervisor (if available)
• Study Plan (500+ words in English or Chinese)
• Two Recommendation Letters from professors or associate professors
• Foreigner Physical Examination Form (completed within six months)
• Non-criminal record report (issued within six months)
• Proof of employment (if currently working in China)
• Curriculum Vitae (CV), including publications (if available).

Application process for China Link scholarship

1. Register and Complete the Online Application: Create an account on the CSC Study in China portal and complete your details.

2. Select programme category: Choose “Type B” and input the correct Agency Number for Hainan University (10589).

3. Fill in application details: Complete all sections, including “Language Proficiency” and “Study Plan,” then upload supporting documents.

4. Submit the application: Carefully review before submission; edits are not allowed after submission.

5. Print and submit the application: If necessary, download the completed form and submit it to the dispatching authority in your country.

6. Complete Hainan University’s online application: Submit scanned copies and finalise the application on Hainan University’s portal.
