Prominent activist and political figure, Aisha Yesufu, has called on her supporters to remain committed to the struggle for political change and to support the presidential ambitions of Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Yesufu made the appeal during a strategic outreach programme across several area councils of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), including Bwari, AMAC, Kuje, Kwali, Abaji and Gwagwalada.
The outreach brought together party members, stakeholders and supporters, providing an opportunity for the activist to express gratitude for their support and commitment to her political aspirations.
According to Yesufu, the engagement formed part of ongoing consultations following recent developments within the party that reportedly prevented her from participating in the contest for the FCT Senatorial District ticket.
Addressing supporters during the meetings, she acknowledged the disappointment and frustration felt by many of her followers over the outcome of the party’s internal processes. However, she urged them not to lose sight of the broader objective of building a better Nigeria.
She stressed that the outreach was designed to appreciate the sacrifices and loyalty of her supporters while encouraging them to remain focused on the larger national project of promoting good governance and inclusive leadership.
“The quest for good governance transcends individual political ambitions,” Yesufu told supporters.
The activist urged members of her political movement, known as Supporters of Aisha Yesufu (SAY Nation), to intensify grassroots mobilisation efforts and continue working towards political transformation across the country.
She called on supporters to remain united, resilient and committed to the vision of delivering what she described as transformative leadership for Nigeria.
In particular, Yesufu encouraged her supporters to rally behind Obi and Kwankwaso, whom she identified as key figures in the broader movement for political change ahead of the next general election.
She also expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future, maintaining that sustained commitment, perseverance and collective action would ultimately produce positive outcomes for the country.
“Nigeria will be OK,” she assured her supporters.
Participants at the outreach programme reaffirmed their support for Yesufu and the ideals she represents, noting that the engagement provided reassurance and renewed confidence despite recent political setbacks.
