Gospel singer, Pastor and on-air personality Bolaji Adedotun Olanrewaju, widely known as Big Bolaji, has passed away at the age of 50 following a brief illness. 

His family confirmed the news in a statement on Saturday, April 19, 2025.

In a statement released by the family of Big Bolaji, they announced his passing, 

“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bolaji Olarewaju, affectionately known as “Big B,” a cherished father, husband, brother, and an esteemed figure in both the church community, an ordained Pastor in the RCCG and a giant in the music industry and our community. “Bolaji left us on Easter Saturday, 19th April 2025, after a brief illness.
“His departure leaves a void in our hearts that can not be filled.
“We take solace in knowing that his absence with us is his presence with the Lord, and the indelible mark he left on all who had the privilege of knowing him will not be erased.
“As we navigate through this time of loss, we kindly request privacy to mourn as a family. We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support we have received and ask that you continue to keep us in your prayers.
“Details regarding the obsequies will be shared in due course as we come together to celebrate Bolaji’s remarkable life and legacy.
“Thank you for respecting our wishes during this incredibly difficult time. With gratitude, The Family of Bolaji Olarewaju.”

The deceased who celebrated his 50th birthday in November 2024 in a glamorous way for many years has hosted the annual concert Turn It Up With Big Bolaji in Ibadan. 

He was a certified estate surveyor from Osun State, though he grew up in Ibadan. 

Big Bolaji was nurtured at The Sword Of The Spirit Ministries under Bishop Francis Wale Oke and was an ordained minister with the Redeemed Christian Church of God. 

Additionally, he served on the board of directors for the Living Spring Music Festival.

Emotional moments as family bury late gospel singer Aduke Gold

Meanwhile, TheRadar earlier reported that Aduke Gold reportedly died on August 12 after battling an illness. 

The final burial of the late singer was scheduled for August 23 

Fans, families and colleagues were left emotional as the late singer was laid to rest.
