Veteran Nollywood actor Segun Arinze has put an end to his long-standing feud with fellow actor Emeka Ike, confirming that they have reconciled.
In an interview with QED.ng's Olumide Iyanda on Wednesday, April 2, Arinze disclosed that their conflict ended naturally, and they have moved on.
The two actors had clashed in 2009 over the leadership role in the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), with Ike challenging Arinze's presidency.
The dispute escalated in 2011 when Ike secured a court injunction against the guild's elections, forcing Segun to step down as president in May 2012.
However, Arinze has now confirmed that they have put their differences aside, saying,
"Emeka Ike is a fine actor. We still talk and laugh about those things. The conflict ended naturally".
He also emphasised the importance of letting go of grudges, stating,
"Hate is a burden. Travel light. What do I need that animosity for?"

Arinze further opened up about his acting career, addressing the misconception that he took a break from acting due to his "bad boy" image.
Arinze clarified that he detested stereotypes and that he needed to evolve as an actor and shed the character he is being given, which has since changed following his reappearances in movies.
He acknowledged that there have been stereotypes about his acting but emphasised the importance of versatility in an actor's career. Arinze expressed his appreciation for fellow actors, particularly Denzel Washington, Tom Hanks, Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD), and Ramsey Nouah, who have excelled in their craft without being bound by stereotypes.
“I like when you see actors navigate through roles, and sit on it, and own the role, and leave it. That's it. I don't want a stereotype and when you see me, you'll be like "Ohh!”
“Even if I'm going to play bad boy, there should be a difference seen. I don't play the role the same way.”
“I see the patterns when they come and I discourage it. I recently turn down two different police roles. You don't want to be a stereotype actor. It kills your fascinating acting.
Thats not me, I don't want that.” Arinze explained.
When questioned about how he addressed Ramsey Nouah, RMD and the likes, and if he feels a sense of competition among them, Arinze responded,
"I don't need to see competition around them. Everyone is a good actor, and the sky is big enough for all the birds to fly. You can't play all the roles, can you? And you can't be everywhere at the same time."
Arinze emphasised that he genuinely feels happy when his colleagues achieve success, stating,
"Competition brings bad blood and all sorts, but I don't need all that."
This conversation resulted in his current relationship status with Emeka Ike.
