Popular social media activist Martins Ortse, popularly known as VeryDarKMan, has revealed that controversial singer Speed Darlington might spend the Christmas and New Year holiday in detention. 

Speed Darlington has been in and out of police detention over alleged defamation of Afrobeats singer Burna Boy. 

Speed Darlington, after regaining freedom, was rearrested two weeks ago for allegedly jumping bail over his defamation saga with Burna Boy. Still in detention, his lawyer had earlier accused the police of refusing to release the singer. 

VeryDarkMan expresses fears over Speed’s detention 

On December 17, VeryDarkMan updated his followers on his Instagram page on the fate of Speed Darlington’s release, which he fears might be further delayed. 


“It is slowly becoming a sad reality that Speed Darlington might spend his Christmas and New Year in detention all in the name of defamation Wey suppose be civil case. Because of how the country be. 

“When a person get power e go Dey misuse am. We actually thought he would be out very soon but the judge was not on seat. 

“We started with judge no sit, later dem bring bail conditions and said it is too much now, they are looking for vacation judge and all that. I don't want to conclude that what I'm thinking is what is happening because I was once a victim. 

“If they don't want to release you, they will make excuses for the judge. That's how a lot of people have spent three to four years in prison. I just hope that is not the case…” VeryDarkMan expressed. 

He also revealed that he has spoken to some people working on the case, and they said they are trying their best to get Speed Darlington out. 

VeryDarkMan further cautioned Speed Darlington to learn his lessons when he gets, especially calling out people unprovoked with evidence.

Meanwhile, TheRadar reported earlier that it’s been one week since Nigerian singer Speedy Darlington was rearrested over the alleged defamation of Burna Boy and jumping bail.
