  • Nigerian singer Speed Darlington has been arrested for over a week
  • His lawyer, Deji Adeyanju has accused the Nigerian police of refusing to grant him freedom
  • Netizens shared mixed reactions to his latest revelation

Deji Adeyanju, the lawyer for arrested controversial singer Speed Darlington, has accused the Nigerian police of refusing to release the artiste.

Speed Darlington was rearrested over a week ago after his first for allegedly jumping bail and defaming his colleague, Burna Boy.

In an X (formerly Twitter) post on December 9, Adeyanju opened up about the delayed release of his client and cited reasons the Police gave him.

The @PoliceNG @PoliceNG_CRU have refused to release Speed Darlington or take him before a judge to face trial on the childish excuse that the last time they released him to me, he travelled to the US. This narrative is false because we told them he was going to the US to return,” he said.

Adeyanju also revealed that the law firm representing the singer has done what is necessary on speed Darlington, but the case has not been assigned by the court.
