Grammys: Tems, Rema, Ayra Starr submit works ahead of 2025 Awards

Nigerian Afrobeats singers, Tems, Ayra Starr and Rema have made official submissions for the 67th Annual Grammy Awards in 2025. 

The submission window for artistes submissions according to the official Grammy Awards website will run from October 4 - October 15, 2024. This is tagged the First Round Voting. 

In an X (formerly Twitter) post, on Friday, October 4, 49th Street disclosed official submissions of Rema, Ayra Starr and Tems

Ayra Starr made a total of 12 submissions, Tems had 12 submissions as well while Rema entered 8 for the global annual awards.

Their submissions are aimed at securing them nominations after the First Round of Voting, which will be announced on November 8, 2024. 

The final round of voting for the awards will run from December 12, 2024, to January 3, 2025, while the main award ceremony is scheduled to be held on February 2, 2025.

  • Born In The Wild: Album of the Year, Global Music Album, Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical 
  • Love Me Jeje: Record of the Year, Song of the Year, African Music Performance, Best Music Video 
  • Burning: Best R&B Performance, Best R&B Song
  • Free Fall: Best Melodic Rap Performance 
  • No. 1: Best African Music Performance

Ayra Starr’s Grammy submissions 

  • The Year I Turned 21: Album of the Year, Global Music Album
  • Bora Bora: Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Global Music Performance 
  • Commas: Record of the Year, Song of the Year, African Music Performance 
  • You’re Hired: Global Music Performance 
  • Hypé: Global Music Performance 
  • Big FU: Pop Duo & Group Performance

Rema’s submissions for the Grammy

  • HEIS: Album of the Year, Best Global Music Album
  • Best New Artiste
  • Ozeba: Best Global Music Performance
  • Benin Boys: Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best African Music Performance, Best Music Video

Global Impact List: Ayra Starr, Tems emerge as Spotify’s most streamed artistes 

Earlier, TheRadar reported that Nigerian Afrobeats artistes, Tems and Ayra Starr emerged at the top of the Global Impact List unveiled by popular streaming platform Spotify for the first half of 2024. 

Through their songs, these artistes were recognized by the streaming platform. Their songs, according to spotify, have the most listens from outside Nigeria between January 1 to June 30. 

Ayra Starr secured the first and second spots with her songs Santa featuring Rauw Alejandro and hit single Commas. On the other hand, Tems took third spot with Love Me Jeje.
