Popular Nollywood actress and director Funke Akindele has emerged top on the list of directors with the highest domestic value, grossing N2.55 billion.
As a three-time highest-grossing film director with her films A Tribe Called Judah (N636,129,120), Battle of Buka Street (N668,423,056) and Omo Ghetto: The Saga (N1,404,207,541), ranking on the first spot isn't surprising.
Via an X (formerly Twitter) post on Wednesday, September 25, StatiSense shared the statistics ranking the domestic gross value top 15 Nollywood directors.
On the second spot of the ranking, Niyi Akinmolayan emerged with a total domestic gross value of N1.11 billion. Niyi Akinmolayan is notable for his five, which rank in the top 50 highest-grossing Nigerian films such as The Wedding Party 2 (2017), Chief Daddy (2018), Prophetess (2021), My Village People (2021) and The Set Up (2019).
Kayode Kasum and Kemi Adetiba ranked in the third and fourth places on the list, grossing N764.34 million and N697.06 million respectively.
Other Nollywood directors who made it to the list include Robert Peters, Moses Inwang, Biodun Stephen and 9 others.
