In a heartwarming display of gratitude and joy, Nollywood veteran Faithia Williams celebrates her 56th birthday today, leaving fans and colleagues alike in awe with her stunning look.

Taking to Instagram, the beloved actress shared a heartfelt post expressing her deep appreciation to God for guiding her through life's journey. 

She began: "Permit me to flood your timeline today, cause it's my day! As I celebrate another year of life, I'm overwhelmed with gratitude for the mercy and goodness of God that has carried me through. Every moment has been a blessing," 

The actress who is currently working on her latest project, Efuroye, invited her fans to join in the celebration, saying: "I want to share that joy with all of you, Let's fill this space with love, laughter, and the beauty of life! Here's to embracing every moment and making unforgettable memories together!"

With enthusiasm and optimism, Faithia looked forward to the new year, as her caption read: 

"I am specially grateful for what is yet to come, trusting that the best is still ahead. Here's to celebrating life, love, and the incredible plans God has in store for me!"

Early life

Faithia Williams, also known as Faithia Balogun is a renowned Nollywood actress that has made an impact in the Nigerian entertainment industry. She was born on February 5, 1969, in Ikeja, Lagos State, Nigeria. She hails from the Urhobo ethnic group in Delta State, Nigeria. Faithia was born into a polygamous family of nine.

Education

Faithia attended Maryland Primary School and Maryland Comprehensive Secondary School in Lagos State, where she obtained her West African School Certificate. She furthered her education at Kwara State Polytechnic, earning a diploma certificate. In 2016, Faithia pursued higher education at Lagos State University, where she studied Economics. 

Career

She began her acting career in the early 1990s which happened by chance as she was asked to stand in for an actress who failed to show up for a production by her uncle, Alhaji Fatai Teniola. She continued performing in various Yoruba-language films over the years. 

In 2008, she won the Africa Movie Academy Award for the Most Outstanding Actress Indigenous and her movie Iranse Aje won the best indigenous film of the year.

Other awards include; Best Actress in a Yoruba Film at the 2010 Best of Nollywood Awards, and Honorary award at the 2016 Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards. 

Marriage and personal life

Faithia was married to actor Saheed Balogun from 2000 to 2014. The couple had two children together, Khalid and Aliyah. Although they are divorced, Faithia and Saheed remain close friends and colleagues.

Legacy and impact

Faithia Williams is widely regarded as one of Nigeria's most talented and influential actresses. With a career spanning over three decades, she has inspired countless young actors and actresses. Her contributions to the Nigerian film industry have been recognised with numerous awards and accolades.
