Kanye West's latest outburst on X (formerly Twitter) has sparked widespread outrage, with many Nigerians condemning his offensive comments about Beyoncé and Jay-Z's children. 

The American rapper claimed that the couple's younger kids are “retarded” and suggested that having children with disabilities is a choice.

West's post, which has since been deleted, read:

A"Wait has anyone ever seen Jay Z and Beyonce's younger kids they're retar_ed. "No like literally And this is why artificial insemination is such a blessing having retar_ed children is a choice."

Nigerians quickly reacted, expressing their outrage and disappointment over his comments. Some compared West’s behaviour to that of controversial Nigerian artists like Portable and Speed Darlington, known for their unfiltered and provocative statements.

Despite the backlash, West appeared unrepentant, expressing regret for deleting the tweet rather than for making the comments in the first place.

"Somebody from my music team called me and begged me to take it down and spoke on Twitter banning etc. I'm soooo mad I took that down," West posted.

He added, expressing his indifference to the reactions he was getting, stating, 

“I NEED EVERYONE TO KNOW THAT I TOOK THE POST ABOUT JAY Z AND BEYONCÉ'S FAMILY DOWN AND JERRY LORENZO'S FAMILY DOWN BECAUSE THERE WAS A POSSIBILITY OF MY TWITTER BEING CANCELLED NOT BECAUSE IM A GOOD PERSON

I TOOK IT DOWN LIKE DOWN SYNDROME GET IT AM I RIGHT AM I RIGHT??? F*CK THE WORLD REAL TALK F**K EEEEVVEEERREEE BODY.”

Kanye West concluded,

“CONCERNING THE JAY Z AND BEYONCÉ TWEET NIGGAS SAID I WOUKD REGRET IT  NOOOO  I REGRET TAKING IT DOWN  MY TWITTER IS A ONE WAY CONVERSION.”

West’s remarks have only fueled further criticism, with many calling out his insensitivity and lack of accountability.
