  • The 2025 Grammys Awards nominations were recently announced, with Nigerian artistes at the forefront of two competitive categories
  • With Tems, Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy and Rema’s nominations this year, the question on everyone’s lips is probably: who stands a better chance at winning
  • On a quest for answers, TheRadar asked ChatGPT to predict Nigerian artistes most likely to win the 2025 Grammys Awards

All eyes are on the upcoming 2025 Grammys Awards, and with its recently announced nominations list, the contenders embody the ‘survival of the fittest.’

The 2025 67th Grammy nominations have seen record-breaking feats, a lineup of unpredictable contenders and most of all, it saw Nigerian artistes stand out.

From Rema to Tems, Burna Boy, Yemi Alade and Wizkid, eight Nigerian artistes were nominated in total to contend for two prestigious categories: Best African Music Performance and Best Global Music Album.

This year's Afrobeats nominations underscore Nigerian artistes' expanding global influence, especially Tems’ nomination in the R&B category with her song Burning—the first of its kind by an African. It also stands to be a turning point for Nigerian music.

The Best African Music Performance category, in particular, was an all-Nigerian selection, which placed Afrobeats sensations like Burna Boy, Asake, Wizkid, Lojay, Yemi Alade, Tems and Davido vying for the same category for the first time.

South Africa’s Tyla, with her song Water, previously won the 2023 Best African Music Performance category at the 66th Grammys Awards. She defeated four Nigerians to clinch the award. This time around, all Nigerian acts occupy the category, and it guarantees that one of them will win. The question is, who will?

In a quest to find answers, we asked ChatGPT to predict the possible Nigerian winners of the Best African Music Performance and Best Global Music Album categories at the upcoming Grammys Awards scheduled for February 2, 2025. Check out its prediction below:

ChatGPT predicts Burna Boy and Tems as possible winners for 2025 Grammys Awards

Question: “Can you highlight Nigerian singers/artistes who were nominated for Best African Music Performance and Best Global Music Album categories for the 2025 67th annual Grammys Awards and predict the possible winners of each category?”

  • Best Global Music Album

Nominated Albums: Born in The Wild by Tems and HEIS by Rema.

  • Best African Music Performance

Nominated Songs: Love Me Jeje by Tems, MMS by Asake featuring Wizkid, Higher by Burna Boy, Yemi Alade’s Tomorrow, Chris Brown’s Sensational feat Davido and Lojay

ChatGPT’s predictions: “For Best African Music Performance, Burna Boy has strong potential to win, given his previous Grammy success and strong global fan base. However, Tems and Asake’s collaboration with Wizkid also has a significant chance due to their popularity and appeal.

For Best Global Music Album, Tems stands out with Born in the Wild, as her multiple Grammy nominations signal wide acclaim. However, Rema’s HEIS also has a robust chance due to his growing international presence.”
