The dynamic duos in the ongoing Big Brother Naija Season 9, No Loose Guard show have officially been dissolved. The pairs were dissolved in a dramatic dissolution ceremony held in the Arena after the Sunday Live eviction show on September 1st.
According to Big Brother, housemates will now play solo for the grand price of N100 million.
The events leading to the dissolution left both housemates and viewers apprehensive of what was to come. It all started when the housemates returned to the house from the Arena after their Smirnoff-sponsored task on Saturday, August 31.
Tension rose in the house when Big Brother’s Ninjas dramatically entered the house and started a timer which had the housemates anxious for 24 hours.
The timer stopped after the eviction show and Big Brother showed the housemates a clip of the highlights of each pair in the house from when the show started and the eviction of all the pairs that have left the show.
The Ninjas then brought in a box of cloaks and the housemates took turns to pick one each. The housemates wore the cloaks and were directed to move into the dimly-lit Arena where the dissolution ceremony took place.
After congratulating them for making it thus far in the show, Big Brother announced that the pairs had been dissolved and the housemates took turns submitting their pair name bands attached to their microphone.
It was an emotional moment for some of the housemates especially Kassia and Wanni who shed tears during the ceremony.
Meanwhile, the parrot figure in the Big Brother Naija All-Star season was reintroduced during the ceremony. The housemates returned to the house after the dissolution to find the parrot in the house.

Many fans have commended Big Brother for dissolving the pairs as they believe this is going to change the gameplay and make the housemates show more of themselves. Fans believe the fanbases of the pairs will have to dissolve and choose which half of the former pair they would support. Some fans also thought the ceremony looked rather occultic.

Meanwhile, TheRadar earlier reported that the Big Brother Naija Season 9 “No Loose Guard” housemates lost their fifth weekly wager.
The theme for the week was African Business and Innovation and housemates were required to develop ideas that could advance African business and innovation.
