The family of Sodiq and Abiodun Olayode hit the jackpot when they didn’t even buy a lottery ticket.

Nigerians have contributed over N17 million to Sodiq’s family, which recently gave birth to a set of quadruplets.

It all started when Olayode’s colleague, James - @jamysax posted on X. “Fun fact: A colleague of mine who had two kids already said he should do and add one more. Guess how many his wife gave birth to? 4 at once (quadruplets) The man wan craze. Na so so lament for status everyday.”

He also posted one of Olayode’s WhatsApp status on X which said ”105 pieces of diapers in 6 days. Haaa. Mo gbe mo daran. E shanu mi eyin Quadruplet yi.”

Under this post, a netizen, @lekhiat posted: “Omooooo I want to donate pampers to him if he wants please let me know. A seed for my Sister and all TTC out there.”

James’ post started gaining attention and James got the permission of the couple to post their picture and account details as Nigerians wanted to make donations to the family.

By Thursday July 25, Nigerians, including a telecommunication company, Airtel, had contributed the sum of N17 million and other gifts to the family. What started as a cruise has now become an unforgettable moment for this couple.

@AirtelNigeria posted: “Hello, @jamysax, when life gives quadruplets, we give #ovajara support! We're adding N2m because great things come in multiples.”

Some people gave the family diapers, baby products, placed the mother of the quadruplets on a monthly salary of N50,000 and also asked her to hire a nanny who will also be paid N50,000 for one year.

Another foodstuff vendor, @MensahEstherOmo, also sent a sack of food items to the family. More gifts and donations are still coming in for the family as of the time of filing this report.

Many well-meaning Nigerians have congratulated the couple on the birth of their newborns and the blessing that followed.

While some people thanked those who donated to the family and prayed for blessings of their own, others thanked their colleague, James, whose posts facilitated the donation on social media.
