The Nigeria Customs Service, Oyo/Osun Area Command, held a special decoration ceremony on Monday, January 27,  to celebrate 95 officers and men who were promoted to the next rank in the recent promotion exercise. 

The event, which took place at the Command's Operational Headquarters in Ibadan, Oyo State, was an occasion to honour the dedicated officers for their hard work and contributions to the Command's success.

Dr. Ben Oramalugo, the Controller of the Oyo/Osun Area Command, congratulated the newly promoted officers, recognising their professionalism, integrity, and consistent performance in their various roles. 

He emphasised that the promotions were a reflection of the officers’ resilience and excellence, which had significantly impacted the Command’s operational success.

“It is a proud moment for the Command as we celebrate the hard work, resilience, and excellence that have brought each promoted officer to this milestone,” Oramalugo said, during his speech at the ceremony.

The event was attended by fellow officers, well-wishers, and distinguished guests, all gathered to mark the officers’ professional achievements. 

Oramalugo commended the newly promoted officers from various units and departments within the Command, noting that the ceremony was both a celebration of individual success and a reminder of the high standards upheld by the Nigeria Customs Service.

The Customs Area Controller also called on the officers to continue maintaining the integrity and professionalism that earned them their promotions. 

He urged the newly decorated officers to serve as role models to their colleagues and work towards furthering the growth and development of the Nigeria Customs Service.

“This promotion is not just a reward for your hard work, but a call to continue striving for excellence in all that we do. I encourage you to build on this achievement, not only for your personal growth but for the continued advancement of the Nigeria Customs Service,” Oramalugo added. 

Customs and Immigration agencies to advance use of technology at Nigerian borders

Meanwhile, TheRadar earlier reported that the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) would implement advanced technology in border towns.

Mr Adewale Adeniyi, Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), discussed how border security is quickly transforming and its growing importance in addressing issues related to trans-border trade, migration, and crime at the West Africa Border Security Week that recently concluded in Lagos on Tuesday, September 3.
