  • APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji disclosed that the opposition parties are “intimidated” by his policy agenda
  • Oyebamiji’s development plan, tagged “PROSPERITY,” is positioned as a comprehensive roadmap for governance
  • The APC flagbearer repeatedly assured residents that he would not “betray” their mandate

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, has said his policy direction ahead of the August 15 election is already putting pressure on opposition parties.

Speaking on Sunday, May 3, in Osogbo during an engagement with members of the Nigerian Society of Professional Tailors, Oyebamiji reassured voters of his commitment to deliver on campaign promises if elected.

According to a statement made available to PUNCH Online, the APC flagbearer, represented at the event by the Chairman of Civic Engagement of the APC Campaign Council, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, said his seven-point agenda would be implemented without compromise.

He explained that his development blueprint, tagged “PROSPERITY,” was carefully designed to address key challenges in the state and drive sustainable growth.

The policy framework, he noted, prioritises poverty reduction, workers’ welfare, employment generation, transparency, economic expansion, security, education, and infrastructure development.

“I want to assure you again that I will not betray your trust if you give me your votes. I am contesting to serve you with all my strength, and I will not disappoint you.
“My newly unveiled seven-point agenda was carefully crafted for implementation when I am elected, and it will drive the growth of the state. Trust me with your votes, and I will keep my promise,” he said.

Oyebamiji also praised members of the tailoring association for their contribution to the local economy, describing them as industrious and reliable.

“A major part of the seven pillars of our action plans focuses on opportunities for economic growth and support programmes for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). This will be fully implemented to strengthen your businesses.

“Trust me with your votes, and I will not betray your trust,” he added.

He urged residents to ignore negative campaigns targeted at him, insisting that opposition figures were unsettled by his policy proposals.

“Since I unveiled my action plans, members and leaders of the opposition have been feeling the heat. They are quite intimidated and confused. I put my trust in God Almighty and you.
“I am certain our action plans will reposition the state when I am elected. Ignore them, and let’s join hands together to bring APC administration back to the state.
“The agenda was carefully crafted to meet the needs and aspirations of the people and will be faithfully implemented,” he said.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the association, Rasheed Balogun, commended Oyebamiji’s track record and dedication to public service.

Balogun noted that he had interacted with the candidate since his tenure as Commissioner for Finance and praised his consistent support for the association through civic engagement initiatives.

He expressed confidence in Oyebamiji’s leadership capacity and pledged the group’s backing, stating, “We are for you.”

Osun Poll: APC’s Bola Oyebamiji picks Benjamin Adereti as running mate as INEC releases final list

Meanwhile, TheRadar earlier reported that the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Oyebamiji, has selected the 2023 House of Representatives candidate for Ife Federal Constituency, Benjamin Adereti, as his running mate for the 2026 governorship election.

Adereti, who previously lost the 2023 election to Bimbo Ajilesoro, then of the Peoples Democratic Party, replaced former state lawmaker Tunde Olatunji, who had initially been listed in the earlier nomination released by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
