The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the 2026 Osun State election, Bola Oyebamiji, has unveiled his development blueprint tagged the ‘Osun Prosperity Agenda,’ outlining a seven-point plan focused on social protection, rural development and economic growth.
Oyebamiji presented the agenda, codenamed ‘Prosper,’ on Friday, May 1, before a cross-section of stakeholders, including civil society organisations, professional associations, artisans, private sector players and media representatives.
He said his administration, if elected, would prioritise poverty reduction, workers’ welfare, job creation and transparent governance, while also expanding economic opportunities across the state.
According to the APC candidate, the proposed agenda is designed to improve living conditions, strengthen social support systems and create a more inclusive economy that benefits women, youths and small business owners.
Oyebamiji said his government would pursue policies aimed at stimulating economic growth through support for small and medium-scale enterprises, youth and women empowerment programmes, and strategic investments capable of creating sustainable jobs.
On security, he said his administration would deepen collaboration with security agencies and reinforce grassroots security structures to tackle violent crime and improve public safety.
He said the Osun Amotekun Corps would be strengthened and better integrated with local intelligence networks, while smart surveillance systems and improved security infrastructure would also be introduced across the state.
“We will strengthen collaboration with security agencies and support community-based security initiatives. Osun Amotekun will be enhanced and integrated with local intelligence systems. We will implement smart surveillance systems and improve security infrastructure,” Oyebamiji said.
Speaking on poverty alleviation, the APC flagbearer said his administration would roll out targeted social intervention programmes for vulnerable residents and ensure that workers’ welfare remains a top priority.
He pledged prompt payment of salaries, improved working conditions and renewed dignity in the state’s public service.
Oyebamiji also promised to drive employment through public works programmes, enterprise support initiatives and strategic investments that would stimulate local industries and encourage entrepreneurship.
As part of his economic revival plan, he said his administration would prioritise the resuscitation of major state assets, including the Dagbolu Dry Port and the Ido-Osun Airport, to unlock economic opportunities and attract investors.
The APC candidate’s unveiling of the ‘Prosper’ agenda comes as political parties intensify consultations and public engagements ahead of the 2026 governorship election in Osun State.
Meanwhile, incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke has continued to promote his administration’s five-point development agenda, which centres on workers’ welfare, infrastructure, healthcare and education.
