  • It is titled “Is it Your Money? The Story of Diezani Alison-Madueke”

Nigerian TV host and media veteran, Chude Jideonwo, has disclosed that former Petroleum Minister Diezani Alison-Madueke will be the subject of a documentary titled “Is it Your Money? The Story of Diezani Alison-Madueke,” which will premiere later this year.

Story based on Madueke’s fraud allegations

The documentary investigates claims of corruption from her time as Minister for Petroleum Resources, with the United Kingdom’s National Crime Agency (NCA) pursuing legal action against her for alleged corruption offences after she left office.

Alison-Madueke was sworn in office by the former president of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, in April 2010 as the first female to hold the position of Minister of Petroleum Resources in the country.

In October 2010, she made history by becoming the first woman to head a national delegation at the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) conference.

Additionally, she was the pioneer female Minister of Transportation and the first woman appointed to the board of the Shell Petroleum Development Company Nigeria.

She was also elected as OPEC's first female president on November 27, 2014, breaking new ground in the organisation's history.

All these achievements, though, would not stop Alison-Madueke from rewriting history in a negative way as well. As loud as her achievements were, so were the allegations after she left office.
