The wedding ceremony between Davido and Chioma Rowland, which took place on Tuesday, June 25, tagged #CHIVIDO 2024, continues to reverberate on social media, and its sheer splendour was due to the calibre of people who were guests. They also included some influential political icons who graced the occasion.
TheRadar compiled the list of Nigerian politicians who honoured Chioma and Davido’s invitation.

1. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo
Olusegun Obasanjo, an erstwhile Nigerian president who served two terms between 1999 and 2007, fully graced the occasion in his white-coated flowing gown, otherwise known as agbada. He was one of the first politicians to arrive at the wedding ceremony.
2. Governor Ademola Adeleke
Osun State governor, Ademola Adeleke, expectedly graced the occasion with his presence. As the groom’s uncle, he lit up the event with his customary dance moves and cheerfulness.

3. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu
Babajide Sanwo-Olu is the current governor of Lagos State, which makes him the chief host of the occasion since it was held in his state. He blessed the wedding ceremony with his presence and was caught on viral clips being hailed by Davido as the real 001. Coincidentally, he celebrated his 59th birthday on the same day. He was seen admiring Governor Adeleke’s pendant at the wedding, alongside Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State.

4. Governor Dapo Abiodun
Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, was one of the political icons present at the wedding on Tuesday. His presence at the event followed the spectucular Ojude Oba festival, which is championed by indigenes of Ogun State. The festival dominated social media discourse before it was finally unseated by Chivido 2024.
5. Former Governor Udom Emmanuel
Emmanuel Udom was the immediate past governor of Akwa Ibom State. He occupied the apex political seat in the state for eight years. Also, he was the campaign director of the Atiku-Okowa presidential campaign council for the 2023 election. He graced the wedding on Tuesday in style and elegance.
6. Akin Olaoye
Akin Olaoye was a strong supporter of the Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Peter Obi. Surprisingly, he connected with some opponents at the events, not minding their political differences. Capturing the group picture on his ‘X’ page @akintollgate: “Politics aside, we stood together for #CHIVIDO2024.”
The likes of Olaoye, Seyi (The son of President Bola Tinubu), Adebola Williams and Japheth Joshua Omojuwa were all captured in a group photograph.

7. Seyi Tinubu
Seyi Tinubu is the son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and an entrepreneur. However, despite their political differences he connected with Akin Olaoye, a supporter of the Labour Party and Peter Obi during the Presidential election in 2022. He was all smiles at the occasion and could be seen bonding with other friends at the wedding party.
8. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin
This political icon is the current speaker in the ninth Assembly of Oyo State House of Assembly. He was one of the political icons to grace Chivido 2024.
9. Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa
Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa is another political figure who attended the wedding ceremony. She was a former member of the House of Representatives representing Ikorodu Constituency in Lagos State and is the current chairman/CEO of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM).
10. Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi
Popular monarch, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi is the Ọọni of Ife. He showed up at the event in his white attire with a beaded crown. His presence, among other kings, gave the event a royal aura.

Meanwhile, TheRadar earlier reported that Davido and Chioma’s wedding ceremony made provision for emergency tailors, cobblers and first aid services.
The services of these artisans were needed during the ceremony to prevent any hindrances to having the fun of the moment. The presence of these emergency workers drew numerous reactions from netizens.
