- Some netizens claim Mr Femi Atere would not have been able to attend the wedding if he hadn’t married his wife and others defend the couple
Following Chioma and Davido's high-profile wedding, social media has been abuzz with conversations not just about the event itself, but also about one of its guests, Femi Atere.
Femi Atere, Veekee James’ husband, has come under fire for simply marrying the popular fashion designer. Many Nigerians are trolling him on social media because according to them, he married up.
It all began when a post on X suggested that Atere "married up" and would not have had the opportunity to attend the wedding if it were not for his wife, Veekee James.
@milay_di replied to a video of the couple getting ready for the wedding. She posted: “Marry well o. Because where Femi for see this wedding attend.”
This comment sparked various responses including trolling and mockery with some Nigerians referring to him as “Mr Veekee James,” and making it trend on social media.
While some users defended Atere, arguing against the double standards in mocking a man for his wife's achievements, others continued to troll him.

Look at what is trending now.”
