Isaac Fayose questions the legitimacy of Senator Natasha's recall process
  • In a recent video, Isaac Fayose spoke about the legitimacy of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan's recall threat
  • He pointed out that the recall process received 250,000 signatures, despite Senator Natasha only receiving 51,763 votes in the 2023 election
  • Backing his claims, Fayose shared videos showing individuals signing a recall petition, raising concerns about the authenticity of the signatures, and alleged rigging in the recall process

Isaac Fayose, a public commentator and political activist, has weighed in on the recall threat against Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

The recall process was initiated by some stakeholders in Kogi State, who claimed that Senator Natasha had not represented them well.

However, Isaac Fayose has questioned the legitimacy of the recall process, pointing out that it received 250,000 signatures, which is a significant number considering that Senator Natasha only received 51,763 votes in the 2023 election.

Fayose argued that the senatorial district election was essentially decided by over a hundred thousand votes and not beyond, with Senator Natasha receiving 51,763 votes and the winner receiving over 52,000 votes.

He questioned how people who didn't participate in the main election could suddenly appear for a recall petition.

To support his claims, Fayose shared videos showing individuals signing a recall petition, which has raised concerns about the authenticity of the signatures.

Furthermore, Fayose stated that the video is not for those with a hollow mind because of poverty.

He stated,

We have millions that poverty has damaged their senses in Nigeria. The senatorial district election that brought in Natasha Akpoti in the 2023 Kogi election was 51763 votes, and she came second, with the winner having over 52000 votes. Joined together is like 100.
“So tell me how people who did not come out during the election, appear for a recall with 250000 signatories. Is this a recall or a joke?”

In a subsequent video posted by Fayose in his Instagram page on Tuesday, March 25, he revealed how Senator Natasha was massively welcomed by the people of Kogi state amid the recall threats.

Despite the controversy surrounding the recall threat, Senator Natasha has received support from some quarters, with many praising her for her courage and determination.

The outcome of the recall process is still uncertain, and netizens are eagerly waiting to see how the situation unfolds.
