  • He stated it has been six months since the nation last experienced insurgency and kidnapping
  • His comment ignited mixed reactions from netizens, with some praising his acknowledgement of government efforts and others disagreeing

Nigerian philanthropist and public speaker Isaac Fayose has ignited controversy on social media after crediting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Nigeria’s security agencies for what he described as a significant reduction in terrorist activities.

In a post shared on his Instagram page (@isaacfayoseoriginal_) on Tuesday, February 11, Fayose claimed that Nigeria had witnessed six months without reports of terrorist attacks, Boko Haram insurgency, or widespread kidnappings.

He stated;

"Six months Boko Haram has not strike, six months kidnapping has reduced. Six months, we had Christmas without bad videos to share.
“President Tinubu has done well with security. Oluyide, the chief of Army staff has done well. Egbetokun, police has done well. Civil defence have done well, Road Safety, you have done well. God bless all of you.
“Six months now Lagos to Ibadan, Abaji to Abuja, Abuja to Lokoja, and Abuja to Kaduna has not reported kidnapping case. When good things happen, we don't share but we are quick to share the bad news. President Tinubu, you are trying with security. God bless you, continue."

Fayose's statement was met with mixed reactions from netizens. While some commended him for acknowledging the efforts of the government and security agencies, others disagreed, arguing that insecurity remains a major challenge in the country.

Several netizens pointed out that incidents of kidnapping, insurgency, and banditry were still occurring, contradicting Fayose’s claims. Some questioned the accuracy of his statements, while others accused him of ignoring ongoing security concerns in various parts of the country.
