- Music producer Samklef accused VeryDarkMan of being biased and losing his integrity, particularly in his criticism of Burna Boy and Wizkid
- He claimed that VeryDarkMan lied about the 180 million naira prank after dismissing it by calling Nigerians dumb
- He further declared his interest in taking up Lil Smart's case
Music producer and artiste Samuel Oguachuba, known as Samklef, has declared 2025 a "year of lamentation" by calling out popular critic VeryDarkMan on his X (formerly Twitter) account.
Samklef called out Verydarkman, whom he accused of losing his integrity and being biased. He claimed that VeryDarkMan refused to speak out against Davido's flaws but was quick to criticise Burna Boy and Wizkid.
This controversy was triggered by the feud between Burna Boy and Cubana Chiefpriest, as many celebrities opined on the issue. VeryDarkMan addressed the clash by blaming Burna Boy for starting the chaotic clash on social media.
Sensing bias in the social media controversy in VDM's comment prompted criticism from Samklef, who questioned VDM's judgment. He referenced an incident where VeryDarkMan allegedly joked about losing N180 million, suggesting that VDM may have taken the money.
Samklef argued that faced with backlash from Nigerians, VDM claimed it was just a prank while also disparaging the public by calling them "stupid" and "dumb."
Furthermore, his criticism of VeryDarkMan continued, accusing him of being intentionally silent on issues involving Davido, implying that he was doing so for potential personal gain.
Samklef's first tweet read:
“VDM's days are numbered—only fools will support a manipulative person who once called them stupid. 😂 He never dares to call out Davido or his people but is quick to target others like Burna Boy and Wizkid. His plan was to divert the money, but when Nigerians caught on, he claimed it was just a prank. Only fools will believe a fool. 2025: The Year of Lamentation!”..
“...“VDM knows that the day he calls out Davido, his own don finish! Biased fool.”
Samklef's comment on private jets among Nigerian artistes
Samklef continued his rant, this time targeting Davido, who is widely believed to own a private jet. Samklef cast doubt on this claim, suggesting that no Nigerian artiste can truly afford a private jet due to the exorbitant maintenance costs. He implied that Davido has been deceiving the public about his private jet ownership.
He posted, “No artist for Nigeria get private jet. Una mumu Dey wear cap.”
He further expressed his opinion on the controversy: “In my opinion, my Owerri brother chief priest is the one who escalated everything! When Burna made his post, he didn’t even mention his names.
“Owerri rickross could be anybody! The issue could have died down quietly, but now there’s so much gossip and rumors flying everywhere. Sometimes, you just have to be the bigger person. It’s starting to seem like he’s been waiting for this moment!
Men go settle one day.”
“… Never broke shame a legit man! Burna boy talent no be for children!
Chief priest for no broke shame burna boy na their he miss.”
Samklef concluded the ongoing controversy on his account with a video featuring VDM, in which the latter expressed his interest in monetising intercourse. He, however, revealed his intention to take on Lil Smart's case, stating, “Dear VDM! When I come back! I don tell lil smart say make he no pay back that 1million u claim that audio na Ai! Dem wan use u silence the boy!
Thank God I be IT GURU! You go prove am for police station! Na date of the recording be this!
I wan take this case up!”
Despite the buzz generated by this announcement, VDM has yet to respond to Samklef.
