On Tuesday, June 10, the comedian, via his official X account, posted a screenshot of his letter to Netflix in defence of the actress against alleged social media bullying.

Attaching a picture in the body of his letter, he wrote,

We are aware that they are trying to use your reputable organization as a tool for attacks and bullying. We urge you to be aware of such mischievous reports. Attached to this email is an example tweet of such a plan.”

He appreciated Toyin Abraham’s movies and urged for the continued efforts and support of Netflix towards the Nigerian movie industry.

In another tweet, the comedian hailed Toyin for being an understanding person, saying, “Thank you, @toyin_abraham1, for listening to the plea of people. I know you tried not to go this route, but you had to stand up for your child. God bless you for listening to us. You're a good person.”

Seyi Law has continued to shower praises and encouragement for the actress through posts and retweets on his X timeline.

Seyi Law faced backlash from netizens

Following his letter, the comedian faced more backlash than support, particularly from Netizens who were not having it. TheRadar curated comments from Seyi Law’s post on X.

@Nedu1313 said, “If you really put this energy into your career. Your jokes for dey funny o”

@Justkency wrote, “These children don't understand life. They think Netflix lives in an asylum and doesn't know what is happening. I need to remind them that Toyin is a money maker for Netflix. This is business and internal affairs that Netflix is not bothered about. It only heightens the silliness of some Nigerians.”

@Olawhite commented, “The attack will also make more people want to know and watch Toyin's movies and eventually make more money for Netflix, isn't that a win-win for Netflix?”

@AbiolaVJ said, “Sir, with all due respect, this is completely unnecessary. Sending the letter is your decision, but posting it on Twitter will only provoke the anger of unhappy Nigerians.”

@monnarene said, “You falsely assume that netflix will not be on the side of the subscribers. We pay them to pay you. If we don't pay, they don't earn. Netflix is not a social organisation”

@iamProjectP wrote, “Seems like you have given up on comedy, you can succeed as an internet nuisance, just keep up the energy”

@Tyhio111223 said, “People aiming to ruin Toyin Career are Igbos all because he didn't soport Obi. Igbo attitudes are reasons why they will never smell Presidency”

@sassypresh commented, “The Law finally found a real JOB”

@obunakwaeze1 said, “Bruv, stop trying too hard to be relevant”

@Muizayo_ said, “Trying so hard to be noticed”

Netizens come down on Toyin Abraham, compare her with Funke Akindele
