  • Pastor Bolaji Idowu has finally addressed his alleged involvement in a N1.5 billion real estate fraud
  • The popular pastor dismissed the report that claimed his arrest and involvement in the allegations
  • Netizens shared mixed reactions to his denial of the alleged fraud

The lead pastor of Harvesters International Christian Centre (HICC), Bolaji Idowu, has denied widespread social media claims alleging his involvement in a N1.5 billion money laundering fraud.

Idowu’s denial comes after a report by Sahara Reporters alleged that the pastor was arrested and kept under investigation by the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) of the Nigerian Police.

Addressing the controversial report, during his popular Next Level Prayers platform, on Wednesday, December 4. the lead pastor of Harvesters, denied the allegations. He also clarified his lack of involvement in the real estate business as the report claimed.

Just to quickly address that over the past 24 hours, there has been a lot of news about me. You know, there have been a lot of news about me on social media. I just want to state some facts clearly. Number one, I heard that I was involved in real estate.

I do not have any property in Nigeria. Anyone that has contrary evidence can produce it. The only property I have in Nigeria is the one my late parents bequeathed to me. There is no property that I bought or have in Nigeria.” Pastor Idowu said.

The cleric emphasized that he is not into real estate business and beckoned on everyone to verify his accounts, which are open to the public.

Secondly, I do not sell or buy properties. I am not in that business. Someone said I receive billions into my accounts, my accounts are public accounts. You can go and check if I have ever received billions into my account. There's just a lot going on in the press and this is not the forum to address it. I want to thank all of you that showed a lot of love. Just to let you know that we are victorious on every side.” He added.

@dray_gram said, “His members won’t do nothing , if he’s innocent as he claimed then he should sue them , no be Cho Cho Cho.”

@ijobacarter said, “There’s something in me saying this pastor isn’t clean as proposed.”

@EboEmakhu asked, “What is in this video that clarifies anything? Does one need to own, or transact Real Estate before they can commit or be indicted for crimes related? How's an individual account public account, that he's asking to go verify bulshit from?”

Nigerians descend heavily on Pastor Adeboye and son over alleged N8b fraud case

Meanwhile, TheRadar earlier reported that many Nigerians expressed anger at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, especially at the general overseer who recently said the country's problems are spiritual and not political.

The son of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Adeolu Adeboye, and his wife were reportedly involved in an alleged fraud case. They had allegedly received N8 billion for a road construction project but only completed 30 per cent of the project.
