Nigerian singer and Afrobeats sensation Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, always has his music video delivery matching his energy.

The 24-year-old ‘Calm down’ crooner officially kicked off his career when D’Prince discovered him via an Instagram freestyle video. In 2019, he had his breakthrough hit, Dumebi, to captivate fans. He

Rema, who dropped another studio album HEIS this year, has maintained consistency with high spirit and energetic delivery in songs and music videos. There is no doubt that his music videos follow the same approach.

As Rema continues to deliver his ‘bangerised’ hits and performances in his music videos, TheRadar highlights the 10 best Rema music videos of all time and why.

10 outstanding music videos by Afrobeats singer, Rema

  • Are you There?

The music video of Are you There? directed by TG Omori captured a hyper Rema with a megaphone calling out to people. The social issue theme song has Rema lead a pack of protesters rebelling against police harassment and corruption in Nigeria. The energy here is angry, fierce and hyper.

  • DND

On DND, Rema takes an action role in his action-inspired storyline on DND. The video directed by Meji Alabi finds strength in its storytelling. Rema appears as a prisoner who escaped with the help of his strapped crew, a professor, whose students taped his mouth and himself in front of the press. The message is simple, Rema is shutting out outside noise and pushing politeness aside.

  • Azaman

Azaman hits the energy Rema is known for. The music video sees Rema dressed in all black and marching through butterfly doors. The energy is contagious and leaves listeners bouncy and jumpy. It was recently released off his HEIS album.

  • Calm Down (2022)

Recognised as the first Afrobeats song to hit 1 billion streams in the United States, Calm Down follows a simple yet vibrant approach in its music video. From the clothing to the set design, it stands out as one of Rema’s most memorable music videos.

  • Holiday (202

Holiday sees Rema in his carefree yet energetic element. The song is a testament to his resilience and perseverance in the industry. The video reflects how the singer is at peace because it had him grinning from ear to ear from start to finish.

Album Review: “HEIS” is Rema’s monotonous outburst for recognition

Earlier, TheRadar reviewed Rema’s album. It solidified an evolution in the 24-year-old's artistic journey, but it signalled a monotonous outburst to seek recognition.

Considering the title of the album and its meaning, Rema, born Divine Ikubor, made a rather bold declaration of himself as “number one” in the music game - which is quite controversial.
