Nigerian-born South African, Chidinma Adetshina, has accepted the invitation of organisers of Miss Universe Nigeria to participate in the 2024 edition of the pageant.
Chidinma recently withdrew from the finals of the 2024 Miss South Africa competition after a controversial investigation report about her true nationality surfaced.
Expressing her gratitude to the Miss Universe Nigeria Organisers, the model, in a short video clip, posted on August 14, by the Silverbird Group founder, Ben Murray-Bruce, accepted the invite.
Chidinma said;
“Hi Everyone, my name is Chidinma Venessaa Adetshina and I cannot start off this video without expressing my gratitude to the incredible people who have shown me so much love and so much support.
Now, I have received an invitation from the Silverbird Group, who are the organisers of the Miss Universe Nigeria. I think it is a great excitement because I have decided to participate in the Miss Universe 2024 beauty pageant.
I understand the expectations and responsibilities that come with this title and I am so excited to embark on this journey. I just want to say thank you so much for this opportunity and I'm looking forward to participating in Africa’s most prestigious beauty pageant, Miss Universe Nigeria.”
Chidinma, who was born in Soweto to a Nigerian father and a Mozambican mother left the social media buzzing after several controversies and alleged bullying surrounding her participation in the 2024 Miss South Africa competition.
The controversial investigations had suggested that Chidinma’s mother stole the identity of a South African woman, leading to her withdrawal from the competition.
Meanwhile, the 2024 Miss Universe Nigeria beauty pageant organizers had reached out to Chidinma in an official statement released on August 9, seeking her indulgence to participate in the competition.
